The Reign of FM Radio

The Reign on FM Radio

One of the most impressive phenomenons of digital communications has been the survival of the radio. What I find interesting about the radio is not only how it was created, but the way that it has developed and aided in the spread of information throughout the world. It has also helped in the spread of music. According to Heidi D. Blossom, the first radio transmission came on December 24, 1906 from Ocean Bluff Brant Rock, Massachusetts. Additionally, the text explains how the Great Depression was one of the reasons why radio was so successful is because there was no competition until television. In short, I believe that radio is one of the real marvels of digital technology because of the way it has impacted the world, as well as how it has maintained it's popularity in most communities.

  1. Hi, my name is Byezda and I have to say I agree with you about radio. I have been reading a lot about radios and it's crazy how we have taken advantage of them. They are so useful to everyone in so many ways that here in the United States I believe we just have the opportunity to just use bluetooth to listen to our music that we rarely hear the radio. Now, in other countries they use it as a source to know the news around their community which is really amazing.

  2. Radios are underrated by this point when they are still a great form of communication. People nowadays connect their phone to the aux and bluetooth but fail to see that the radio can give one information about the road conditions which is important too, the radio is so authentic and community oriented.

  3. Hello! I have to say, personally, I don't use my radio anymore. When there's a phone I could connect to my car with music I want to hear, radios don't really seem needed. With that being said, I agree with you. We do take radio for granted. Great job!
